Bid on thousands of vehicles

Step 1 - Create Your Account

Enter your first and last names, e-mail, and a password to Create Your Account. On the next page, you’ll be prompted to either continue as a Guest (can view auctions with no bidding privileges) or upgrade to bid and buy as a Registered Buyer.

Step 2 - Select Your Buyer Type

An approved registration is required to bid in IAA’s auctions. Create a bidding account as a Public (Individual) or Licenced Business Buyer, choosing the one best suited for how you plan to bid.

Licenced Business Buyer (Dealer):Buyers that hold the appropriate licence for purchasing vehicles in their state may register by completing the online form and submitting the necessary documents for registration. You will need a photo of your driver's licence, Australian Business Number, and either your Motor Dealer Licence (ie LMCT, MVD, MVDL or similar), Second Hand Dealer Licence or Recycler Licence. You will need to submit appropriate documentation so that IAA can verify your account. If you’re unsure, contact Buyer Services to see if you have the appropriate licence.

Licenced Buyer (Non-Dealer): Business buyers that do not hold a dealer licence but still wish to purchase in an IAA auction will need to submit a photo of your driver's licence and Australian Business Number (ABN).

Note for Overseas Buyers: If you are located outside Australia, you can only register as a Licenced Business Buyer if you operate a licenced automotive-related business such as a dealer, body shop, repair facility, import/export, trading vehicles, or trading of spare parts. With this licence, you can bid at IAA locations where you meet all state licencing requirements. When registering, please supply details of this licence for our team to verify your account.

Public Buyer Registration: Individuals without a Dealer Licence or automotive-related business who wish to buy at auction can register by filling out the online form and submitting the required documents. To register as a Public Buyer, you will just need a photo of your driver's licence.

Step 3 - Submit Your Documents

To complete your registration, you will need to provide the following documents:

A government-issued ID (choose one):

  • Driver’s Licence
  • Passport

If your ID does not include your address, IAA will need proof of address (choose one):

    • Tax Return/Tax Invoice
    • Electricity or Water Bill
    • Official document that includes name and address

We accept JPG, PNG or GIF files up to 10 MB.

Note: You can complete registration without uploading any images, but you will not be able to bid until we receive those documents.

To register as a Licenced Buyer, you must also submit your appropriate automotive related licence

      Licence Requirements within Australia:
You can register as a Licenced Business Buyer with a Dealer or automotive-related licence. If you do not have an automotive-related business, you can still register as a Public Buyer.
