SMS Policy
Effective: 1 April 2025
The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use govern, among other things described herein, the use of the SMS Service (“Service”), which we may make available to you, either directly or through a thirdparty service provider. This SMS Policy is incorporated into the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, as applicable.
By opting in to the Service, you agree to the terms of this SMS Policy and agree that IAA may contact you for commercial, marketing or promotional reasons by text message at your mobile phone number including by using an automatic telephone dialing system or device, or any other computer assisted technology as applicable.
This SMS Policy applies from the date set out as the Effective Date at the top.
IAA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify or change this SMS Policy at any time with or without prior notice to you. This SMS Policy, and any changes, are effective as soon as posted. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes to the SMS Policy constitutes your full acceptance of those changes. If you do not accept a change made to this SMS Policy, you must opt-out of the Service immediately.
You acknowledge that in using the Service, your information will travel through third party infrastructures which are not under our control (such as a third party SMS delivery platform or your carrier network). We cannot protect, nor does this SMS Policy apply to, any information that you transmit to other users. You should never transmit personal or identifying information to other users.
Opting in
A mobile user might opt-in by:
- Entering a phone number online or texting an IAA branch/phone number, or otherwise using the Service,
- Filling out a paper or online form that provides your phone number to IAA (including, but not limited to, a contract with us),
- Signing up online or at a branch/physical location, or
- Otherwise asking or consenting to use the Service.
Opting out
IAA through IAA’s third-party service provider gives you the ability to opt out of the Service for any reason and at any time.
You can opt out by texting “STOP” or “QUIT” when you receive an SMS.
Within a reasonable time (not more than 5 business days) after you opting out by texting "“STOP” or “QUIT”, we will process your request and consequently you will no longer receive marketing text messages from us in the future but you may continue to receive non-commercial information from us where we are legally able to send that or required to provide it.
If you want to resume using the Service, you can opt-in as you did the first time or by any other method listed above, and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
Standard message and data rates charged by your mobile carrier may apply for any messages you send to us or receive from us, and you are liable for the cost of any such charges. You may receive recurring messages. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your mobile carrier.
You understand that anyone with access to your mobile phone may be able to view the messages you receive when using the Service, and you solely are liable to you if this occurs.
You understand that you are not required to consent to the Service to receive any other services from IAA.
